Evaluation Question 4.

How did you use new media technologies in the construction, research and planning and evaluation stages?

 We used a wide range of technology in each stages of our work, the most prominent being the use of editing software in the construction stage.
 The use of technology during our research stage was mostly the use of YouTube for references to other music videos that we intended to match our music video to or copy from. We also spent a large amount of time researching our band in order to make our video match their ideas, this was more difficult as the band is less well known, this meant that we had to spend time talking to members of the band online using Facebook and watching their video's on YouTube.
 The use of technology here made our work considerably easier as we could constantly check up with the band regarding decisions that we had made as we made them, in addition as the band was a lot more familiar with the music they could offer insight into our plans. We made a mood board of various images and patterns that we felt were essential for our preparation (see older posts), this was aided by the use of technology as we could look online at anytime to reference our progress and  check that we were still on task.

During the construction we used Adobe Premier Pro to edit our work and we used YouTube to find out new editing techniques in order to make the actual construction of our work at a higher standard. This use of tutorials from YouTube helped us to get used to using the software to a higher level which ultimately meant that the overall standard of our editing was better. We also used other websites on the internet to try and improve our ability using media technologies to construct our project. We also, out of interest, used a greenscreen and edited together a  video with help from online. Despite this not being part of our final project we still thought it was a good idea to learn how to use more advanced film techniques, such as the use of greenscreens, in order to further our media skill.

So overall the main media technologies that we used during our construction, research, planning and evaluation was the use of the internet, in particular YouTube, and the use of editing software, like Adobe Premier Pro and Adobe After Effects.
